Just a reminder that there is no school on Monday, January 16 due to a scheduled Teacher-in-Service day.

Schedule Changes
We will not be hosting the Christian Educators' Seminar that was scheduled for January 26-27, 2012. Therefore, we will have a regular day (9:00 – 2:30) of school on Thursday, January 26 and a half day (8:00 – 12:00) on Friday, January 27.
Monday, February 6 will be a half day (8:00 – 12:00) due to a ministry-wide staff meeting.
Monday, April 16 will be a half day (8:00-12:00) due to a ministry-wide staff meeting.
The Men and Boys' Campout has been rescheduled for May 31-June 2. Therefore, we will have a regular day of school on Friday, May 18.

NVBS Spirit Days
The Student Council has arranged a series of fun-filled Spirit Days for the middle school and high school students on Thursday and Friday, January 19-20.
Thursday will be "Crazy Day," and Friday will be "School Color Day." On Thursday, students may simply dress in a crazy fashion; and on Friday, they should dress in school colors. (Outfits must coincide with the dress standards laid out in the student handbook) Students may not wear pajamas and hair should not be colored or dyed. Each team member must dress out in that day's theme or points will be deducted. If you choose not to dress out, you must come to school in that day's uniform.
The middle and high school students will be going to the De La Cruz gym on Friday afternoon from 12:45 – 2:15 for team competitions. This is for the 6th – 12th grade only. Elementary students should not dress out. Permission slips will be sent home on Wednesday.
The Senior Class will be selling Spirit Chains, which your child may purchase for twenty-five cents each. The class that purchases the most links will win a pizza party.

NVBS Homecoming
The NVBS Homecoming game and festivities will be held on Friday, January 20 at the Cristina Martinez Gym at the De La Cruz property. We ask that the students come dressed in khaki and collared shirts, no denim, please.
Please come to cheer on our NVBS Bulldogs against Summit High School. The game will begin at 6:00 p.m. The admission cost is as follows:
$15 – Family Rate
$5 -Adults
$2 – Students
Free – 4 and under
The presentation of the Homecoming Court will follow the game.
Following the presentation of the Homecoming Court, the seniors and their parents are invited to meet at the Sonoma Chicken Coop restaurant in San Jose. The address is: 90 Skyport Dr., San Jose, CA 95110

Booster Seat Requirement
Effective January 1, 2012: Children *MUST* be secured in an appropriate child passenger restraint (safety seat or booster seat) IN THE BACK SEAT OF A VEHICLE until they are at least 8 YEARS OLD or 4' 9" in height. Please plan to provide one for your child's field trips in the future. If you would like more information, you can visit the CHP website.

NVBC Boys' Baseball League
North Valley Boys' Baseball League starts in just a few weeks!
Who: Boys entering Kindergarten in the fall through current 8th graders (all skill levels)
Where: Montague Baseball Field
When: First practice is February 25th. Games will be on Saturdays and Mondays through May.
Cost: $85 per player
