2007-2008 School Theme: Driven

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." (Philippians 4:13)

In the book of Philippians, the Apostle Paul wrote, "I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me." Paul was a man consummed with the work of the Lord. He was driven to accomplish all he could in the ministry. In turn, he was greatly used of God.

To be driven is to exhibit great self-initiative and self-motivation, no matter the obstacle. The historic photograph of Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima captures this thought perfectly. The photograph depicts five U.S. Marines and a U.S. Navy corpsman raising the flag of the United States atop Mount Suribachi during the fierce Battle of Iwo Jima in World War II.

With the examples of the Apostle Paul and these extraordinary men before us, it is our desire that our students strive to be driven and to exhibit tremendous self-initiative and self-motivation in their lives to the glory and service of the Lord.
