Course Description: Calculus is designed for prospective mathematics majors and students interested in engineering, computer science, physics, business or the life sciences. The program covers all topics in the Advanced Placement Calculus AB and Calculus BC syllabi. Instruction takes full advantage of graphing calculators, using them for visual demonstrations of concepts and confirming calculations.
Schedule: M-F, 4th hour
Textbook: Saxon Calculus: 2nd Edition (ISBN 978-1-565-77146-8)
Special Projects and Presentations: There may be special projects, presentations, and research papers assigned throughout the course. Topics, length, proper formatting, due dates, and other details will be addressed when these projects are assigned. There will be at least 1 special project due during the second semester.
Makeup Work for Excused Absences: Students are expected to make up all missed work within the time limit prescribed in the NVBS Student Handbook. The student is responsible to ask Miss Hussin for any information regarding any work he or she has missed.
Late Work (Unexcused): Any assignment or portion of an assignment turned in late will be penalized. Please refer to the NVBS Student Handbook.
