These bylaws govern the conduct of the members and the direction of the affairs. Each ordinance should be followed explicitly and should not be taken lightly.

Article I: Officers

Section 1. President

(a) The President must be a man chosen by the electoral process. In the condition of the absence of men in the society, an elected member will assume the responsibilities of president but not the title. (1 Timothy 2:12)

(b) The President will preside over all meetings.

(c) The President will oversee fundraisers pertaining to the Honor Society.

(d) The President may suggest activities to be approved by the principal.

(e) The President will be the spokesperson of the Honor Society.

Section 2. Secretary

(a) The Secretary is responsible for the agenda of the Honor Society and business both new and old. An agenda will be required for every meeting.

(b) The Secretary will be responsible for keeping the minutes for each meeting.

(c) The Secretary will keep a record of member history and activities for the advisor.

(d) The Secretary will keep track of member attendance to soul winning.

(e) The Secretary will keep a calendar of events.

(f) The Secretary will review and approve all outgoing correspondence.

Section 3. Treasurer

(a) The Treasurer will keep record of all financial transactions.

(b) The Treasurer will provide an annual report to the advisor.

(c) The Treasurer will provide the financial report for every meeting.

(d) The Treasurer will handle all funds. The funds will go through the North Valley Baptist Church finance office.

Article II: Election of the Officers

Section 1. The elections will take place on the first meeting of the year, which will be held in September.

Section 2. Each member is permitted to cast one vote for each office by secret ballot. The top three candidates for each office will be the nominees who will afterward be voted upon by a raise of hands.

Section 3. All members reserve the right to waive their vote or withdraw their name from nomination.

Section 4. All officers will serve one-year terms and may be re-elected.

Section 5. In the event of a tie the faculty council shall cast the deciding vote.

Section 6. In the event of the dismissal of an Honor Society officer, new elections will occur for that office in the next meeting.

Section 7. Each member is permitted to hold only one office at a time.

Article III: Meetings

Section 1. All meetings will begin with prayer.

Section 2. All meetings must be held in an orderly fashion.

Section 3. A quorum will consist of a majority of the members and either the adviser or his appointee.

Section 4. Meetings will be held on the first and third Wednesday of each month.

Section 5. The officers, advisor and principal reserve the right to reschedule meetings and/or call emergency meetings.

Article IV: Dues

Section 1. Five dollars will be required from every member at every scheduled meeting.

Section 2. Dues may be paid in advance.

Section 3. A one-dollar late fee will be assessed each week the dues are late. First offense is given grace.

Section 4. If dues remain delinquent for more than two months, all rights and privileges of the Honor Society will be temporarily revoked to that member during a one-month probation. If after the probation the dues remain unpaid, the member faces dismissal from the Honor Society.

Section 5. A second probation in one year will result in expulsion from the Society.

Section 6. If a member is absent from a meeting, their dues for that week will be collected on the next week without fine.

Article V: Membership Obligations

Section 1. Members are to obey all rules contained in the school handbook, the constitution and subsequent bylaws.

Section 2. Members are required to attend public soul winning every week. Four unexcused absences are permitted per year. A fifth unexcused absence will result in one-month probation. A sixth unexcused absence will result in dismissal from the Society. Excused absences will be at the discretion of the advisor or principal. This rule does not apply if there was no Teen Soul Winning that week.

Section 3. Members must have less than seventy-five demerits during the span of each semester. Infraction of this rule prompts expulsion.

Section 4. Members must attend all meetings if they are present at school that day. Exceptions may be made by the advisor or principal only. The second infraction of this rule will result in one-month probation. The third infraction will result in expulsion.
